Step 1: Here’s a Healthy Daily Routine
Finding the right balance between work and your personal life especially when you are working from home isn’t easy. However, one thing that can help is creating your daily routine.
Think about it. When you have kids, you spend a lot of time trying to get them into a routine because you know that’s what they need. However, as an adult routine tends to go out of the window despite the fact our bodies still crave it.
Having a healthy routine is key to success both in your work and your personal life. So, how can you set up a daily routine that you can stick to? Below, you’ll discover how to create a healthy daily routine and the types of things to focus on.
Use the block system
The block schedule system has been gaining in popularity thanks to entrepreneur Jordan Page. Known for her frugal living tips, Page also dedicates a lot of her time to productivity.
The block schedule system involves separating tasks into blocks of time. This means you’ll give each task a start and an end time.
The goal is to work on your to-do list, prioritizing tasks into timeframes. So, if you have a large project you need to work on you could schedule it between 8 am and 10 am. Then, the next block of time is reserved for the next task on your to-do list.
This simple yet clever method is extremely effective in ensuring you get everything done that needs to be done. You can use it for work, exercise, healthy eating and socializing. Everybody gets the same 24 hours in a day, it’s how you choose to use those hours that determines your success.
Get your rest
In terms of what to include in your daily routine, sleep is one of the most important.
How much sleep you get each night will ultimately impact how you feel and perform the next day. A lack of sleep can have a detrimental effect on our health, yet studies show most of us don’t get the amount we need.
Having a daily routine can help you to increase both the amount of sleep you get, as well as the quality of your sleep. Make sure you stick to the same bedtime every night and awake at the same time each morning. It may take a little while to get into a sleep routine, but you’ll feel so much better once you do.
Remember your high-protein snacks
Part of a healthy daily routine is to ensure you’re eating a balanced diet. When you’re super-busy, it’s easy to turn to fast foods to keep you energized throughout the day. The trouble is these fast foods can cause havoc for our mental and physical health.
Instead, it’s much healthier to add high-protein snacks to your daily routine. Ideally, you’ll want to eat these in the morning and mid-afternoon. This will help to keep those energy levels up, whilst also boosting productivity.
Exercise, exercise, exercise
Similarly, you’ll want to make sure you include 30 minutes of exercise into your routine. This is potentially one of the main things a lot of people struggle with.
When you’re so busy, it can feel like you really don’t have time to work out. However, by ensuring you fit it into your daily routine, exercising will soon become a healthy habit. Combined with getting plenty of sleep and eating healthy snacks, this will give you oodles of energy you can use to be more productive.
These are some of the most important things to focus on when creating a healthy daily routine and your work life balance. It’s worth noting here that you may find it difficult to stick to the changes you make. The key is to be persistent as adopting a routine does take time to get used to; particularly if you’re so used to not having one.
