Reset Your Self-Care and Wellbeing

One of the biggest areas of your life you should focus on during a mid-year reset (or any reset for that matter) is with your self-care routine and your wellbeing. These are areas of your life that often get missed during resets, but it is important to make them a priority in your life.

Assess Your Current Self-Care Routine

Begin by assessing your current self-care routine. Take note of what practices you currently engage in and how effective they are. Are there areas where you could improve or activities you’ve neglected? This evaluation helps you identify gaps and understand what changes are needed. Knowing where you stand allows you to make more informed decisions about how to enhance your self-care practices.

Prioritize Mental Health

Prioritizing mental health is essential for overall wellbeing. Incorporate activities that promote mental health, such as meditation, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques. Consider seeking professional support if needed. Ensuring you have time for activities that reduce stress and promote mental clarity can significantly improve your quality of life. Prioritizing mental health helps you stay balanced and resilient.

Enhance Physical Health

Enhancing physical health is a key component of self-care. Evaluate your diet, exercise routine, and sleep patterns. Make adjustments to ensure you’re eating nutritious foods, engaging in regular physical activity, and getting enough rest. Small changes, like adding more fruits and vegetables to your diet or taking daily walks, can have a big impact on your physical wellbeing. A healthy body supports a healthy mind.

Consider Your Emotional Wellbeing

Your emotional wellbeing is just as important as your physical and mental health, so it’s important that you make it just as much of a priority. Reflect on your emotional state and identify any areas of concern. Engage in activities that bring you joy and help you process your emotions, such as talking to a friend, journaling, or participating in a hobby you love. Taking care of your emotional health allows you to navigate life’s challenges with greater ease.

Create a Self-Care Schedule

Creating a self-care schedule ensures that you consistently make time for activities that nurture your wellbeing. Plan regular self-care activities, whether it’s a daily walk, a weekly bath, or a monthly massage. Scheduling these activities helps you prioritize self-care amidst a busy lifestyle. A structured approach ensures that you consistently take time for yourself.

Engage in Personal Growth

Engaging in personal growth activities can enhance your self-care routine. Set goals for learning new skills, pursuing hobbies, or improving yourself in areas that interest you. Personal growth can provide a sense of achievement and fulfillment. By dedicating time to personal development, you enrich your life and boost your overall sense of wellbeing.

Choose Your Top Self-Care Activities

Choose your top self-care activities that you enjoy and that effectively reduce stress. This could include reading, exercising, cooking, or spending time in nature. Make a list of these activities and ensure they are a regular part of your routine. Prioritizing activities that you love ensures that your self-care routine is enjoyable and sustainable, promoting long-term wellbeing.

I have been really focused on mindfulness with somatic awareness lately – specifically noticing when my shoulders are tense and pulling towards my ears. It’s definitely part of a reboot for me! I’m trying to develop a yoga habit every day. Fortunately, my cat companion is getting used to it and calls for me to get my mat!

It’s great that you have been paying attention like that! I hope your cat participates in your relaxation moments! LOL
