Remove the husk and silk from the corn really well.
Place each piece of corn on a piece of foil. Top with a pad of butter and season to taste with salt.
Note: At this point, you can also use other flavorings like pepper, chili powder, garlic salt, etc. Season to your heart's content.
Wrap the corn tightly in aluminum foil and place it in your slow cooker. Fill it with enough corn to feed your family, but make sure the lid still closes completely. You can cut the ears of corn in half to fit more in there.
Cook the corn on high for 2 to 3 hours until it is tender. The fuller your slow cooker is, the longer it will take.
