Challenging yourself mentally is so important! While studying a new language, I’ve found that my brain feels sharper overall. Additionally, learning something that includes physical aspects, such as playing an instrument, also seems to help with mental clarity a lot.

Just the other day I watched a documentary about a project that kills two birds with one stone: feed the hungry and reduce food waste: Volunteers collect items from supermarkets. The label says it’s expired and can’t be sold anymore, but it’s in perfectly good condition. They distribute it to different locations, where welfare recipients may pick it up. Many of these volunteers are friendly, retired ladies. Some also combine the grocery pickup place with a soup kitchen, so you can get a warm meal.
