While some people thrive on choosing their own foods, creating wonderful recipes and meals, some people want to take the guesswork out of meal planning and prep.

Additionally, some people have ethical reasons for wanting to avoid some foods or need to stay away from certain types of foods because of their unique dietary needs. When people want guidance or need to adhere to a specialized diet, they may choose one of the many diet formats out there. A few popular diets are- 

  • Vegetarian/Vegan
  • Mediterranean
  • Keto

Vegetarian and Veganism

These plant-based diets are perfect for people who have ethical issues with consuming animals or using animal by-products. Additionally, vegan diets are great for people who may be lactose intolerant or want to avoid certain grains due to allergies.

Explore the benefits of unlimited fruits, veggies, grains, seeds, and more. Vegan and vegetarian diets don’t place any restrictions on which fruits and veggies you consume, simply enjoy the ones you love most.

Mediterranean

This diet is based on the lifestyle of Mediterranean people. It includes a diet rich in fresh fish, olives, nuts, seeds, legumes, and olive oil. Seeing how Mediterranean’s have longer lives and significantly lower issues with cardiovascular disease their diet is a great blueprint for healthy living.  

It’s possible to leave out fish and seafood if you prefer a vegetarian bend on your diet. The Mediterranean diet is tasty, satisfying, and it’s fun to explore recipes from regions outside the normal American diet.  

Keto

This popular diet has become a mainstay in many homes. Keto is appealing because of the combination of appealing foods and weight loss or weight management. Unlike restrictive diets that cut out fats, the Keto diet uses fat as a primary food source which can make meals incredibly tasty and satisfying.

If you love cheese, sour cream, and meat there’s plenty to enjoy with this diet. Since it’s so popular, It’s easy to find recipes, support, and tons of information online. There’s a world of information waiting for you to devour.

There are pros and cons to each of the diets. Ultimately, it is up to each person to decide which meets their dietary and/or ethical expectations. Each diet generates energy because they all tend to leave out the salt, sugar, and over-processed foods- especially convenience and fast foods. 

Conclusion

If you are not restricted to certain foods based on allergies, religion, or other ethics, it makes sense to try each diet and see if one of them- or a hybrid of sorts, is right for you. Depending on how each diet makes you feel and how much energy they create, you can choose the one that works best and fits your lifestyle the most.
